CISA Item Writer Program
ATTENTION ALL CISA ITEM WRITERS. The next deadline for submitting new
items to the CISA Item Writer Program is 10 January 2003. The CISA Test
Enhancement Committee (TEC) is meeting in early March to review new items.
The CISA item pool currently is in need of items focusing on the following
IS audit tasks within the CISA job practice analysis. During this item
writing campaign, accepted items written in these areas will earn $100
US
and one CISA CE credit hour.
2.5 Use of system performance and monitoring processes, tools and
techniques;
3.3 Design, implementation, and monitoring of environmental controls;
5.2 Processes by which application systems are acquired and implemented;
6.3 Business process change projects;
6.4 The organization's implementation of risk management and governance;
7.5 Review the audit work performed to provide reasonable assurance that
objectives have been achieved.
Due to an abundance of quality items currently in the CISA item pool,
we
will not be accepting items written in the following areas within the
CISA
job practice analysis..
1.4 IS organization and structure to ensure appropriate and adequate
support of the organization's business requirements;
2.3 Acquisition, installation, and maintenance of network infrastructure;
2.4 IS operational practices;
3.1 Design, implementation, and monitoring of logical access controls;
3.2 Network infrastructure security;
5.1 Processes by which application systems are developed and implemented;
6.2 Design and implementation of programmed and manual controls;
7.1 Develop and/or implement a risk-based IS audit strategy and objectives
7.2 Plan specific audits;
7.3 Obtain sufficient, reliable, relevant, and useful evidence
Any item submitted that test the knowledge of these tasks will be returned
without review by the TEC.
Accepted items written in all of the other CISA job practice task areas
will earn $50 US and one CISA CE credit hour.

guide not only leads you through the item writing process, it also
highlights how to write successful items and includes the job practice
analysis. Also included within the guide is an item development form.
Please follow the format on the form and submit all items in English.
